DESCRIPTION:(English below)\n\nPanedeni - ensemble cerddorol unigryw hefo enw sydd yn asio’r ymadrodd Cymraeg\, ‘Paned’\, gyda the Adeni o Aden\, Yemen.\nMae Panedeni yn cyfansoddi cerddoriaeth gyda iaith a dylanwad cerddorol Chymraeg ac Arabeg ac mae wedi ymrwymo i ehangu gorwelion a chroesi ffiniau diwylliannol\, gan bylu’r llinellau rhwng cerddoriaeth werin y Dwyrain a’r Gorllewin a chanolbwyntio ar gydweithio ag unigolion anhygoel i ddod â’u profiadau unigryw nhw i flaen y gad mewn prosiect cerddorol cyffrous.\n\nDan arweiniad Yasmine Latkowski\, rydym yn dod â thapestri cyfoethog o ddylanwadau Dwyrain Canol\, Saesneg a Chymreig at ei gilydd i greu cymysgedd bywiog\, amlddiwylliannol o gerddoriaeth wreiddiol. Mae cydweithrediadau cyfansoddi caneuon eisoes wedi cynnwys cyfraniadau yn Gymraeg gan Sion Rickard o LoFi Jones a’r seren newydd Ayoub Boukhalfa sy’n dod â neges o gariad yn wyneb creulondeb yn y Dwyrain Canol.\n\n____________________________________\n\nPanedeni\n\nPanedeni - a unique musical ensemble whose name fuses the Welsh phrase\, Paned\, for a ‘cup of tea’ with Adeni tea from Aden\, Yemen.\n\nPanedeni composes music with Welsh and Arabic language and musical influence and is committed to expanding horizons and crossing cultural borders\, blurring the lines between Eastern and Western folk music.\n\nFronted by Yasmine Latkowski\, we bring together a rich tapestry of Middle Eastern\, English\, and Welsh influences to create a vibrant\, multicultural mix of original music. Yasmine’s captivating vocals are complemented by a diverse group of musicians: Tim Eastwood on Welsh bagpipes and violin\, Reuben Allen on bass\, Joelle Barker and John Ramm on percussion\, Katie Stevens on woodwind\, and Sam Slater on guitar and oud. Together\, we weave a mesmerising blend of Eastern and Western folk traditions\, which has been seen at Focus Wales 2024\, Llangollen International Eisteddfod\, Wrexfest 2024 with Akram Abdulfattah and Llangollen Fringe Festival. ‘An unforgettable sold-out night of inspiring performances that captivated the audience from start to finish. This event was a brilliant highlight of the Llangollen Fringe Festival\, an absolute gem that will be remembered for years to come’ – Paul Keddie\, Llangollen Fringe.\n\nSupported by Arts Council Wales\, we are dedicated to composing music that bridges Welsh and Arabic languages and musical influence. We are collaborating with musicians across the country and borders from Wales to Egypt. Song writing collaborations have already included contributions in Welsh from Sion Rickard of LoFi Jones and rising star Ayoub Boukhalfa who brings a message of love in the face brutality in the Middle East.

DESCRIPTION:Half A String presents Under The Frozen Moon\n\n24th November\, 15:45pm (1hr)\, Assembly Room at Ruthin Town Hall \nRuthin Town Hall\, Wynnstay Road\, LL15 1AS \nUnder the Frozen Moon weaves rhythmic poetry\, astonishing puppetry\, and beautiful live folk music to create a breathtaking piece family theatre that will enthral the whole family. In this is a piece of original folklore two storytellers lead an audience through a heart warming tale of a young girl\, Amka\, who goes on a quest to give a greedy dragon the warmest\, best gift she knows: a hug. Along the way Amka makes friends a fluffy tailed Arctic fox called Kim Johannsson\, and together they confront the dragon who froze the moon. \n \n  \nIt’s so cold in Lunavik that the moon has frozen! A greedy dragon has gobbled every fire and every light\, leaving only the white glow of the frozen moon. You can’t feel your toes\, fire freezes in the hearth\, and it doesn’t even snow... but not all warmth is lost. \nUnder the glittering stars and dazzling aurora\, Amka’s family huddle together\, fishing for eels and knitting plenty of hats. In this heart-warming tale\, a young girl sets out on a quest to confront the dragon under the ice who has hoarded all of the fires and lights for himself. With lively poetry\, transforming sets\, atmospheric live music and exciting puppetry; Under the Frozen Moon brings to life a beautiful world of ice and adventure. ​Recommended for Ages 3+
